Road: The Institute is located in Medziphema block of Dist. Dimapur, Nagaland which is 25 km away from Dimapur on the National Highway 29 that connects Kohima (50 km), Imphal and the Myanmar border at Moreh. The road distance between Guwahati and
Dimapur is 308 Km (via Doboka, NH27/ NH29) and 385 Km (via Numaligarh, NH 29)
Rail: Dimapur (DMV) rail station, on Lumding-Dibrugarh section of Northeast Frontier Railway, is well connected to major cities of India and there are direct train services to cities like Guwahati (250km), Dibrugarh (256 km), Kolkata (1270 km), New Delhi, Bangalore, Chandigarh, Amritsar, and Chennai. Besides, several Mail/Express trains, 12067/ 12068 Jan Shatabdi Express, 12085/ 12086 Shatabdi Express and three (12236/12235, 12436/ 12435, 12424/12423) Rajdhani Express regularly ply between Guwahati and Dimapur.
Air: Dimapur is also connected to major cities of India via Kolkata by Indigo (6E377/ 6E417) and Air India (AI 709/AI 710, does not ply on Saturday) flight. Dimapur (DMU) Airport is located 19 km from the Institute and 6 km from the Dimapur city.
Weather condition in Medziphema
Medziphema, spreads over a very wide beautiful landscape and its altitude is about 360 m above the sea level. It is neither a hill nor a valley and actually represents an interface of the Hilly Nagaland and the valleys as the actual hill region more or less start after this area as we move up towards Kohima. During the month of October-November the day temperature may go up to 29 OC and night temperature may fall up to 19 OC.
