Dr. K. Subramanian obtained his PhD from Cornell University in Electrical Engineering with specialization in Micro ElectroMechanical Systems or MEMS. He obtained his Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from IIT Madras. He is currently Head of R&D at Powergear Ltd., MEPZ, Chennai where he works on implementing several novel technologies in Energy and other sectors. He previously worked at GE’s Global Research Center in New York.
Dr.Subramanian has filed more than 50 patent applications in his field. He managed a large program on MEMS at GE and received two prestigious awards for his research. One of them, the Hull Award, is presented to early-career researchers at GE Global Research. The other award, the Whitney technical achievement award is for a project that is viewed as a potential market game changer. Dr.Subramanian is a Six Sigma Black Belt. He has made significant contributions to multiple unique projects and has authored numerous publications and technical reports. The current R&D initiative at Powergear aims to showcase India’s innovative talents to the world.

Vinod Kumar is the R&D Head for GE Global Research-Bangalore. He is also the Technology Leader for Materials, Mechanical & Manufacturing organization in GE Global Research-Bangalore, leading a team of 75+ technologists with focus on cutting edge technology in new materials, mechanical systems, Smart Factory, Inspection and Services. Vinod has been in GE for 18 years. Prior to his current role, he led the Inspection team in GE Global Research-Bangalore for 8 years, in the areas of x-ray/CT, ultrasound and electromagnetics for supply chain and in-service inspection. He has worked extensively in the areas of Computer Aided Design and Manufacturing (CAD/CAM), System Variation Analysis, Tolerancing & Assembly, Virtual Manufacturing & Automation, Industrial Inspection Technologies. Vinod holds a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from IIT-Madras, a Master’s degree from Rutgers University, New Jersey, and a doctorate in mechanical engineering from the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor. Dr. C. S. Karthikeyan has over 17 years of professional experience in R &D,Product & Business development, Marketing & manufacturing. He has worked in various sectors including chemicals (Dow & BASF), Electronics, Solar and other renewable energy topics. He holds a PhD in Materials Engineering from Technical University of Hamburg, Germany and Master of Engineering from IISc Bangalore. He has over 30 international publications and 20 conference presentation and few review articles to his credit. Dr. G. SUGUMAR, the Dean of Fisheries College and Research Institute joined as Assistant Professor in the department of Fisheries Technology in1986. He has a Ph.D. in Fishery Microbiology from UAS, Bangalore in 1994 for which he worked on the “Haemolysins of marine Vibrio spp” at College of Fisheries, Mangalore. He was a recipient of Japanese Government Scholarship and has carried out Postdoctoral research at the Faculty of Applied Biological Sciences of the Hiroshima University, Japan on ” Bacillary necrosis of oyster larvae” from 1996 to 1998. He won FAO fellowship under AHRDP for undergoing a specialized training on Molecular Diagnostics at the Veterinary Diagnostic laboratory of the Texas A&M University, USA during August – October, 2000. He has been handling UG, and PG courses on Fish Processing Technology, basic and applied Fisheries Microbiology and guiding M.F.Sc and Ph.D students. As Principal Investigator, he has completed research projects on, “Antimicrobial activity of Chitoson and its use in fish preservation”. He has also served as Principal Investigator in a net work project with DRWA (ICAR) as lead centre and promoted dry fish processing. He had established the Vocational training Centre on Fish Processing Technology at the Fisheries College and Research Institute in 2012 under NADP funds. In 2015, as project supervisor, he headed the team that developed “Environmental guidelines for Cage culture of fish in reservoirs of Tamil Nadu”. He supervised projects funded by TN FiMSUL and NAFCC. He has been conferred with “Best Teacher Award” by the Professional Fisheries Graduates Forum, Mumbai in 2003, 2008 and 2011. He has published 51 research articles in journals, 17 research articles in proceedings and presented many research papers in seminars / symposia, besides having authored 3 books and 5 teaching manuals. He was appointed as Joint Special Officer (JSO) by the Govt. of Tamil Nadu for establishment of Tamil Nadu Fisheries University in February 2012. He was part of the ministerial delegation to Malaysia, China and South Korea in 2012. As Dean of Fisheries College and Research Institute, Thoothukudi, introduced programmes and measures for infrastructure development and academic reformation besides programmes on soft skills for students. The institute has won, “Best College Award 2014” and he had won “Excellence for the Best Scientist Award – 2014” instituted by Malarum Velanmai, Coimbatore. Has organized a special session on Indian Fisheries Education in the capacity of Convener of the session at the International Symposium on Fisheries Education at Shanghai Ocean University, China where Tamil Nadu Fisheries University was a Co-sponsor. He was conferred as Fellow of Agricultural Scientific Tamil Society (SciTSA), New Delhi in 2015. As convener, he has organized a national consultation on “Revitalizing Fisheries Education in India” at FCRI, Thoothukudi and an International symposium on Aquaculture and Fisheries in India in 2016. He was conferred with a Recognition award for his significant contributions to Fish Processing Technology and Applied Fisheries Microbiology by the SABS, Bangalore and a Citation award at the International Conference on Environmental Sustainability for Food Security in September, 2016. |

Dr. Pankaj Kumar Aggarwal, is Scientist G at Institute of Wood Science and Technology. He joined the service as Scientist B in 1992 and has worked in various capacity like Coordinator (Facilities)., Dy. Director (Extension), Head of Office , Under Secretary . Dr Pankaj is M.Phil in Physics from IIT Roorkee and Ph.D. in wood science from FRI University. At present he is supervising seven students for their Ph.D. He has published around 60 research papers in National/International journals and is a reviewer of many international journals. He was awarded the prestigious Brandis Award for best research paper published in Indian Forester At present in addition to his Scientific duties he is the Grievance and Redressal officer of the Institute.
